WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF LEAVING A ROOF IN TAUNTON COVERED IN MOSS AND ALGAE?
The mild, wet conditions in autumn creates ideal conditions for moss and algae to build on roofs. It is most common on roofs overshadowed by tress or with north-facing pitches. Spores settle in the tiny gaps between tiles, hold moisture and begin to spread.

Soft Washing
Best for algae, lichen and light-to-moderate moss; most tile and slate roofs.
A low-pressure application of specialist biocide that kills organic growth at the root and keeps roofs cleaner for longer — no forceful jetting near your tiles.
Manual Scrape & Biocide
Best for roofs with heavy, established moss build-up.
Moss is carefully removed first, then a biocide treatment is applied which kills the biofilms at the cell wall level by piercing through them, penetrating the organism, and killing it all the way down to the root system.
A note on pressure washing: we don’t recommend high-pressure jet washing for roofs. It can crack tiles, strip protective coatings and force water beneath the tiles, causing far more expensive problems than the moss itself. Our low-pressure methods protect your roof while getting excellent results.
